Mr. Glenn A. Miller, Chairman, has 36 years of experience in the financial and real estate sector including the founding of three financial institutions. Within this framework he has provided asset management to pension funds and institutional investors in all forms of real estate development. His background includes serving as a Director of a number of Canadian companies, both public and private. Mr. Miller has a Bachelor of Science degree and is an MBA graduate from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.
President & CEO
Mr. David V. Johnston, President & Chief Executive Officer of PenEquity, has over 25 years of real estate industry acquisition/disposition, financial structuring and administration experience, including retail, office, industrial and residential developments. Mr. Johnston has provided asset management to pension funds and institutional investors in all forms of real estate development. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation with Price Waterhouse and has a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Senior Vice President – Development & Leasing
Mr. Leger Xavier, Senior Vice President, Development & Leasing, has over 12 years of experience managing and actively implementing strategies to maximize value within a diverse real estate portfolio of food anchored, entertainment and mixed-use urban developments. In addition, Mr. Xavier has served as Treasurer and Chair of the Executive Committee of the Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area for the last five years. Mr. Xavier is a graduate from the University of Western Ontario with an Honors Degree in Urban Development.
Senior Vice President – Business Development
Mr. Neil Miller, Senior Vice President, Business Development, has over the past 10 years with PenEquity, managed and developed the company’s real estate and business partnerships, including the various Limited Partnerships of which PenEquity is the General Partner. He has also served as Treasurer and currently sits as Chair of Yonge Dundas Square Board of Management. Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree and is also an MBA graduate from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.
Vice President – Construction & Planning
Mr. Lawrence J. Burke, Vice President, Construction, has been involved over 28 years in the ICI industry with experience in contracting, project management, municipal approvals, site development, construction and stakeholder analysis. Mr. Burke is a member of the Professional Management Institute and studied Architectural Technology at Algonquin College.
Vice President – Property Management
Ms. Stacey Lenathen, Vice President, Property Management has over 11 years of experience in all facets of property and asset management. Ms. Lenathen has managed retail and commercial developments in both enclosed and open air shopping centre environments. Ms. Lenathen is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Operations from DeVry University in Calgary, Alberta. She has achieved the designation of Certified Shopping Centre Manager from the ICSC.
Mr. David Canham brings more than 20 years of experience in real estate accounting and finance to the team. His background includes reporting for both income producing properties and properties in development. This is supplemented with strong corporate reporting for both private enterprises and public entities. Recent experience includes reporting for a newly formed REIT on the TSX and reporting for a development portfolio owned by a joint venture with a major pension fund partner. Prior to that Mr. Canham was involved in acquisitions and finance for a private real estate company. He is a Certified Management Accountant.
